Catching up on sleeping

marcocruz66

So today I wanted to put some advice out there from the CDC on how to fix bad habits with sleeping.

  1. One of the most important things was that you go to sleep consistently to get into a rhythm of the time your body usually sleeps.

  2. make sure the place you sleep is dark but you can also buy things like sleep masks to block out the light so it simulates the darkness of a room with the lights off.

  3. This is one thing that people don't think about is the time you eat. It is much harder to sleep if you eat a big meal right before and is not recommended as well as of course caffeine. This makes sense because of the effect caffeine has on the body. Caffeine has the effect on the body that pushes the energy to the front of the body rather than it just sitting there when you are tired. This is why after a certain of time you get more tired than you were before the caffeine because it is not really giving you more energy rather it pushes the current energy to the front.

  4. Being tired can account to multiple things and in multiple ways, You can be exhausted from a workout which is a more positive thing than just being tired. For me I can get both very easily but you definitely see the tiredness more than the exhaustion of a workout in your life. As a result though you are more tired and it is easier to fall asleep unless you have insomnia.

Here is the link if you want to jump into the wormhole yourself.

So what I take from this is I definitely need to see exhaustion as a positive because you often want to take a nap when you feel like this or lay down and that always turns into a nap. The best way to handle this is to stay active or do something for enjoyment that can keep you busy to keep your mind off of it. the best way I have found is if you do play videogames then talking to friends is a great way to keep your mind off that exhaustion just be careful not to stay up too late playing. Also don't over exhaust yourself and then you struggle to wake up early, but more about that on another post.

I find this post to be very well written. I like that you took the time to go and look at what the CDC says, and then also I love that you tell us why you did this and what you take away from it.
